“Anybody can breathe, therefore anyone can practice yoga”
TKV Desikachar
“In order to achieve a state of yoga,
one must develop both practice and detachment.”
Sutra I.12- Abhyasa vairagyabhyam tat nirodhah
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
There are so many reasons to practice yoga, but here are some of the main ones: Yoga is a 5000-year-old discipline from India. Widely practiced for its ability to enhance physical well-being and inner peace, yoga offers a unique path to spiritual growth and self-awareness. With low-impact poses, it ensures minimal joint stress, translating to a remarkably low risk of injuries, while still being challenging. Overcoming initial intimidation, yoga seamlessly becomes a natural part of your routine, instilling hope and positivity. This healing practice fosters a profound connection between mind and body through breath, promoting balance. In essence, yoga guides you towards finding harmony, unity, and connection within yourself, with others, and with the world. Give it a try – you might be surprised! There's no reason not to!
Nothing as magical as flowing in unity! Group yoga classes offer a unique opportunity to share the journey of self-discovery with others.
In a group class, people of various backgrounds, ages, and abilities come together, all uniting to flow together. This diversity silently celebrates the uniqueness of each individual while finding harmony within the group.
Observing the progress of others and acknowledging your own growth in a group setting can be both humbling and inspiring. Witnessing shared evolution creates an unspoken sense of encouragement.
Without needing to exchange words, a collective understanding exists, acknowledging that each individual’s journey is valued and respected.
As the class concludes, a subtle nod or shared smile of gratitude emerges among practitioners. This unspoken exchange of appreciation reinforces the caring and compassionate community that continues to flourish within group sessions and shared practice.
We unite to find and create a safe haven in which we embrace growth and nurture the yoga practice.
